We see every ship and every order as a process that needs to be optimized step by step. This is based on targeted planning, i.e. a precise study of the documents given to us, such as specifications, co-plans, lighting, clamping and cable route plans. The preliminary planning is carried out in close cooperation between the electrical construction manager and his area managers. The same process takes place under the construction manager and his team. The result is a precisely tailored processing plan for the cable pulling, the metalworking and electrical areas, and even the temporary construction lighting.
In order to meet this requirement, we continuously optimize every single part of our service offering and every single step in the process chain. Our functional construction site planning and our assembly hall, which was described as "optimal" by the management consultancy Boston Consulting in 2005, contribute to our effective process design. Here we are able to prefabricate large quantities of cable trays without any problems. We have the necessary storage capacity and specialist staff who carefully separate, process and document materials.
Our specialists implement shipyard-specific work instructions and standards one-to-one on site. A special topic here is the temporary lighting of the ship: Due to the specialist knowledge of our temporary team, the planning and implementation in this case is the responsibility of ITU marine systems GmbH.
Communication networks within each shipyard ensure direct routes and short work steps. Contact persons for the respective areas - whether fire protection zone, lighting decks, engine room or bridge - are available at all times. Coordination between them is seamless and trusting. Disruptions within the work processes are also passed on immediately so that proposed solutions can be developed and implemented immediately. In the event of delays within the schedule or requests for changes from the shipyard, we immediately incorporate the adapted documentation into the planning.
Our project manager is informed about all processes during assembly, he records and transmits all daily completion levels to our head office for further processing. Our head office ensures permanent controlling. The advantage: Not only we, but also the client can check whether the preliminary calculation and output match.
If the pre-calculated capacities prove to be insufficient during the ongoing process, we can call on the support of our subsidiary ITU Dienstleistungen GmbH on an ad hoc basis. The company has around 100 experienced ship electricians known to us and 120 cable tray fitters who are available at short notice. This option ensures the necessary capacities during the ongoing process and enables us to process larger orders in parallel.
